Frequently asked questions

Why is G-code more accurate than STL?

An STL is only the geometry — time and material depend on how you slice it. G-code is the result of slicing, so the slicer has already calculated the real time and filament and written them into the file. Here we simply read those values.

Which slicers work?

Cura, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, SuperSlicer and Simplify3D. We read the time, the weight (g) and/or the length (mm) from the header.

What if the file has no weight?

Some slicers (like Cura) only record the length. In that case we compute the weight from the length, the diameter and the density of the material you choose.

Is my file sent to a server?

No. The G-code is read entirely in your browser.
